Gyre Lesson Plans offer classroom activity ideas on themes in the Anchorage Museum's art and science exhibition Gyre: The Plastic Ocean.
All student programs align to Content Standards for Alaska Students, Cultural Standards for Educators, and Alaska Standards for Culturally Responsive Schools.
In addition to this website/DVD, teachers are encouraged to obtain a copy of the exhibition book, Gyre: The Plastic Ocean, published by Booth-Clibborn Editions, for the complete texts of the essays that are excerpted here, and for photographs of artwork and graphics not on the website. The catalog can be purchased at the Anchorage Museum Shop or online.
